Hunter Jumper Series

The Forward Strides Series (formerly the Thursday Morning Horse Show) continues a long-standing tradition at Bucks County Horse Park, offering a welcoming schooling atmosphere while introducing riders to the structure and standards of recognized competition. Select divisions qualify for the Colonial Classic Horse Show, with nominations due by July 16 and top riders determined by points accumulated through August 6. Marshall & Sterling League classes are also offered, with points counting for current M&S members; non-members may compete, classes may be combined, and divisions require three riders to fill.

Forward Strides

Formerly called the "Thursday Morning Horse Show"

Introducing the Forward Strides Hunter Jumper Series at Bucks County Horse Park — a fresh evolution of our beloved Thursday Morning Horse Show, now expanded to include select weekend dates to provide greater access and flexibility for today’s busy riders and families. While the name is new, the welcoming, community-focused atmosphere remains the same. Forward Strides offers thoughtfully organized divisions across three rings, creating opportunities for riders at every stage of development:

In the Children’s Ring, divisions run from Leadline through the beginning stages of equitation, providing a supportive introduction for our youngest riders and those just starting their show careers.

In the Hunter Ring, competitors can move up the ladder from 18” cross rails through 3’ hunter and equitation classes, focusing on rhythm, consistency, and polished fundamentals.

In the Jumper Ring, courses range from 18” cross rails through 3’3”, allowing riders to develop accuracy, confidence, and technical skills in a progressive environment.

Forward Strides is proud to serve as a qualifying series for the prestigious Colonial Classic and Marshall & Sterling League Finals, giving riders meaningful goals to work toward throughout the season. In addition, competitors accumulate points toward our own series year-end awards, recognizing dedication, sportsmanship, and achievement across all divisions.

Whether you’re stepping into the ring for the first time or fine-tuning your rounds at 3’3”, the Forward Strides Hunter Jumper Series offers the perfect blend of tradition, opportunity, and forward momentum.
